“Always There For You”

“Always There For You”

Something to think about for today…

I believe every painting has a story dancing within the canvas. Does the subject tell the story? Does the artist reveal her story? Or does the buyer see his/her story in the painting itself? When I painted “Always There For You” the story of this dog unfolded with each brush stroke. “Charley” is a rescue dog found by the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue. This 4 year old golden was discovered chained to a tree, weighing in at just 45 lbs and covered in ticks and fleas. A young couple volunteering at SCGRR fostered him and eventually adopted him. After working hard with his trust issues and past emotional abuse, this couple says he is “ the best dog ever.”He now weighs 85 lbs and has a healthy shiny coat. He loves the California lifestyle with daily walks and ocean swims on the weekends. I know the owners AND Charley will “always be there” for each other forever.

The next time you are drawn in by a painting, ask yourself “why?” Is the painting evoking a memory and telling your story? If so, think about adding it to the pages of your life…
